Perform the following duties and responsibilities under the direct supervision of a CNMI Board Licensed Dentist: oral examination and diagnosis of dental disease; oral health instruction and disease prevention education, including nutritional counseling and dietary analysis; preliminary charting of the oral cavity; taking intra-oral and extra-oral photographs; prophylaxis or removal of stains, accretions or deposits and polishing of teeth; scale and root planning; application of topical preventive or prophylactic agents, including fluoride varnishes and gel; fabrication and cementation of temporary crowns; suture removal and dressing changes; cavity preparation; placement, shaping polishing and adjustment of restorative materials or fillings; recommendation of permanent crowns; non-surgical extraction of teeth with greater than grade 2 mobility; tooth re-implantation; observation and monitoring of patients under sedation; administration of local anesthetic; dispensing medications as ordered by the dentist.
